A Fine copy with coloured pictorial dustjacket which has a small closed tear to back and a little wear to the plastic coating and is complete. A well researched biography of the Stuart duchess who was born Sarah Alston and married three times - first to George Grimston in 1652, then to Lord John Seymour who became the fourth Duke of Somerset and finally to Henry, Lord Coleraine. She lived in London during the interregnum and the Restoration that followed and is noted for her endowments to colleges, schools, hospitals, almshouses and the church.
