Pictorials on blue cloth boards which are clean and unmarked with no wear. Internally there is light foxing to closed edges and a light crease to one page else very clean, tight and unmarked with no previous owner inscriptions. 384 pages. 5 iilustrations by Alfred Pearse and 4 maps. Not dated but probably an impression of the fourth edition of 1904 or slightly later. A story dealing with the closing events of the War of Independence in Holland - a story which was promised in the author's 'By Pike and Dyke', which brought the struggle down to the death of the Prince of Orange and the capture of Antwerp. The present book gives the second phase of the war, when England, who had unofficially assisted Holland, threw herself openly into the struggle, and by her aid mainly contributed to the successful issue of the war. **** NOT EX LIB ****
