Gilt title on red cloth boards which are very clean and unmarked with no wear and just gentle bumping to top corner tips. Internally there is a small name to front pastedown else very clean, tight and unmarked. A Very Good+ copy. Dustjacket has renmoval to top but otherwise complete. First published in 1943. Frontispiece of the Mass of St. Giles. The author has followed a very comprehensive and orderly plan, including a great many historical and interesting facts bearing on the Mass. The angle of approach has been taken from St. Paul's treatment of the scarifices of the Old Testament as 'the shadow of the good things to come', and in simple language he traces out the theological, historical, liturgical and devotional aspects of the Mass.
