Gold title on green boards which have some light marks and a touch of wear to one lower corner tip. Internally there is a contemporary gift inscription to front endpaper and light foxing to closed edges and a few sporadic spots of light foxing, a small closed tear to the top margin of one page, else a clean tight copy. Dustjacket has some chipping with a half inch loss to spine tail and is not price clipped. Second impression September 1956 (first was also September 1956). Over 50 photographs including 5 in full colour. 185 pages. The first in the Zoo Quest series. The full story of the highly successful BBC - London Zoo expedition to British Guiana, that went to film in the wild, and bring back alive, 'some of the starngest, some of the loveliest, and some of the most horrifying animals in the world'.
