Gilt title on brown boards which are clean and unmarked with no wear but with one small indentation to front. Internally there is foxing to closed edges and to endpapers else clean, tight and unmarked. Many pages are unopened accounting for the very good condition. Fore edge uncut. A Very Good + copy. xix and 336 pages. Coloured frontispiece of William Buckland tissue guarded and 27 illustrations of which many are engravings on card which are tissue guarded. A definitive history first published by the society in 1907 for their centenary celebration by Horace Bolingbroke Woodward (1848-1914). 16 chapters and numerous appendices.
