Dustjacket has a little creasing to inner flap and a touch of wear to spine head and tail. A novel from the Nebula and Hugo Awards winning author, who holds a doctorate in astrophysics and is a consultant to NASA. It is of the dark days after a limited but devastating war in the near future, as a handful of men and women battle disease, hunger, fear and brutality in their struggle to survive. One survivor, Gordon Krantz, an itinerant storyteller who lives by performing the classics in the villages of the Northwest, borrows the jacket and bag of a long dead postal worker and in the next village he visits, he finds the old, worn uniform still has power as a symbol of hope for the return of an age now gone.
