Buckley, Eunice Rhapsody For Strings London Andrew Dakers 1945 First Edition Cloth Very Good No Jacket Gold title on black cloth boards which are clean and unmarked with no wear. Internally clean and unmarked. A Very Good + copy. Eunice Buckley is one of the pseudonyms of Rose Laure Allatini (1890-1980) a Vienna born English author and once wife to the famous classical pianist, composer, poet and occultist, Cyril Scott (1879-1970). Her novel "Despised and Rejected" was suppressed by the government during the First World War for fear it would encourage pacifism and was a novel of homosexuality and conscientious objectors. She wrote many popular novels tinged with mysticism, lesbian references and re-incarnation. She separated from her husband in 1941 and went to live with her lover Melanie Mills in Rye in Sussex. This novel with a musical theme is also tinged with lesbian references and is partly set in Vienna. *** A SCARCE TITLE *** Price:
