Gilt title on blue cloth boards which are very clean and unmarked with just slight wear to spine head and tail and corner tips. Internally there is a name and date to front endpaper and a little light foxing to closed edges. Dustjacket is chipped with a large loss to rear. 498 pages. Foreword by Admiral of the Fleet, the Earl Mountbatten of Burma. The book has been heavily but neatly amended with additional information by its previous owner (probably a naval historian) which appears under the text, in the margins, to the rear of the dedication page, under the last page and to the rear endpapers and rear pastedown. Generally though it is a clean tight copy. These additions provide extra information. **** NOT EX LIB ****
