Professor Dodd's book comprises eight essays on the teaching of the New Testament. The first three are contributions to the attempt to describe and identify the pre-literary tradition behind the Four Gospels, an enterprise which has particularly engaged scholars in this field. The three subsequent papers are concerned with the fascinating yet elusive workings of the mind of St. Paul, as revealed in the epistles. The two remaining essays, on the Communion of Saints and the Eternal Life, fall within the scope of Biblical theology of the New Testament.
