Professor Chadwick's masterly account of Archbishop Ramsey's life and works, written at the invitation of Ramsey, from Ramsey's personal materials and free access to Lambeth Palace archives. At home he was politically concerned against racialism in Britain, and determined to secure justice and equality for immigrants.
