Second edition - first was published May 6th 1909. Photogravure portrait of Tullia D'Arragona to frontispiece and 23 other illustrations. Ornate gilt decoration and lettering to spine with leather title label on tan cloth. Title label worn with some wear to spine tail. Internally there is a repaired rear hinge, darkened endpapers and light foxing to closed edges and occasionally to a few pages. Covers 23 women, many royal mistresses, courtesans, royal ladies and others including Ninon De Lenclos, Sophie Arnould, The Du Barry, Marie Antoinette.
