Delaire, Jean Alsatian Tales London Sands & Co 1913 First Edition Decorative Cloth Very Good TEG No Jacket Alfred Touchemolin Gilt titles with white pictorial of French Soldier carrying a flag and rifle on blue cloth boards. Boards clean with minor marks, a touch of wear to spine head and tail and corner tips and darkening to spine. Internally there is light foxing to endpapers else very clean, tight and unmarked. Top edge gilt. Although the title page bore the date 1902 this has been altered to 1913. The author is the pseudonym of Mrs. Muirson Blake, editor of The Theosophical Magazine and early Science Fiction writer. The book comprises I. Mademoiselle Beaux-Veux - A Schoolroom Tragedy; II. The Deserter - A Frontier Incident; III. Pro Patria - An Episode; IV. 'Vive La France' - A Reminiscence.
