1 Oesterley, W.O.E. An Introduction to the Books of the Apocrypha
London SPCK 1953 Hard Cover Very Good Very Good
Gold title on blue boards are unmarked with no wear. Internally there is age darkening and foxing to endpapers and to closed edges else a clean, tight and unmarked copy. Third impression (First was 1935). x + 345 pages. This book is in no sense a new edition of The Books of the Apocrypha: Their Origin, Teaching and Contents, published in 1914. It is from beginning to end a new and wholly independent work. Since the earlier volume appeared, much new literature on the Apocrypha generally, and on its individual books has been published; and the present writer has had, since then, opportunities for studying a good deal, at any rate, of this new material, besides paying attention to the older literature. The work consists of two parts - Part I - The Prolegomena to the Apocrypha; Part II - The Books of the Apocrypha.
