Gilt title and decoration to spine with cream title and pictorial to front on red cloth boards. Boards have minor marks with no wear. Internally there is a coloured decorative prize bookplate to front pastedown with printed date of 1897, light foxing to some pages and closed edges else clean, tight and generally very clean. New Edition not dated but probably 1890's. 288 pages and 32 page publisher's catalogue some illustrated. First published in 1888. Illustrated by Walter Paget. A children's novel of the crusades featuring German knights en route to the Holy Land.
