Gold title and gold facsimile signature of Gorky on red leatherette boards which are clean, unmarked with no wear. Internally very clean and unmarked. A near Fine copy. Dustjacket is complete with some wear to sides and creasing to back. Not dated but probably 1950's or earlier. Translated from the Russian by Margaret Wettlin and printed in the USSR. Portrait of author to frontispiece. Childhood is the first part of Maxim Gorky's autobiography written in 1913. Maxim Gorky was the pen name of Aleksei Maksimovich Peshkov (1868-1936). *** NOT EX LIB ***
