Gilt titles with gilt and black decoration to spine, gilt and black title with ornate black embossed decoration and ruling on tan colour cloth boards. Some wear to spine head and tail and a few light marks but generally clean and bright. Internally clean, tight and unmarked. Not dated but collated with the British Library. viii and 272 pages. Interestingly page one has '2' printed at the foot of the page instead of '1'. Illustrated with 3 plates.Overall a very good and attractive copy. The author is the Reverend Joseph Holt Ingraham (1809-1865) an American born in Maine who was a popular writer in Victorian times.
