Internally there is a contemporary name and date to front endpaper else very clean, tight and unmarked. A Very Good+ copy. Dustjacket has a little chipping to spine head and tail. Everyman's Library edition No. 453. Although no real records exist of the traditional epic poet of Greece, Herodotus placed him in the ninth century B.C. Introduction by F. Melian Stawell. This is the highly acclaimed translation by Lord Derby of the classic work.
