1 Totovents, Vahan Scenes from an Armenian Childhood
London Oxford University Press 1962 First Edition Hard Cover Very Good Very Good

Dustjacket has no wear and is not price clipped. Translated and with a foreword by Mischa Kudian. Vahan Hovhannesi Totovents (1889-1937) grew up in Mezre, Kharput province in Western Armenia, which lay on the old Roman road running eastward from Byzantium and on to Babylon. He became one of the most respected of Armenian writers, and this is the first of his books to appear in an English translation. It presents a series of pictures of his childhood in an area under Turkish domination, and the whole world of Asia Minor is revealed with striking clarity and precision. The entire territory was depleted of its Armenian population during the Turkish massacres and deportations of 1915.
