The king in the title is Jerome, Napoleon's profligate younger brother, who was given the newly created Kingdom of Westphalia. He fought at Waterloo.

Frontispiece portrait of The Empress Marie-Louise and 30 other portraits and illustrations. These are the 318 letters previously unpublished and unknown which came up for auction in December 1934 and acquired for France. Very interesting illustrations and insights not referenced in earlier biographies.
