Photogravure plates of George Sand (2), Jules Sandeau, Prosper Merimee, Alfred De Musset and Frederic Chopin tissue protected. Gilt title and decoration to spine with gilt ruling, decoration and monogram to front on blue cloth boards. Some wear to spine sides, head and tail and some bumping to corners. Internally there is a small neat signature and date to front endpaper and age darkening of endpapers else clean and unmarked. Top edge gilt with fore and lower edges uncut. One of the best biographies of George Sand with particularly good plates.
