The author (1864-1948) was Past President of the Institute of Journalists, Editor of The Daily Express for 30 years and author of the famous R.D.B.'s Diary. He recounts his early life in a maze of picturesque memories, commencing as far back as 1867, when buffalo roamed the prairies of the undeveloped West, cowboys were real beings and Red Indians were in evidence as friends. It is the story of a boy's ambitions intermingled with the growth of a mid-western town, whose pioneer settlers spoke to each other in Latin, Greek, French, German and English. *** A SCARCE TITLE ***
