Black title, motif and ruling on orange cloth boards. Boards are very clean and unmarked with only a hint of wear to tail of spine. Internally very clean and unmarked apart from some small handwritten numbers to rear pastedown. A Very Good + copy. 2nd printing and not dated but Ist printing was 1925 and this was probably 1930's. Dustjacket has many tears and small removals but has the back synopsis and front cover intact. Founded on an unproduced comedy by Victor Bridges and Edgar Jepson. A novel of a man returning from Brighton after acting as best man at friend's wedding which seems to have brought him good luck. First he is informed that his Academy picture has been sold for a hundred pounds and that he has inherited an earldom. An amusing story of Chelsea studios and country seats. **** A VERY SCARCE JEPSON TITLE **** Edgar Alfred Jepson 1863-1938 was a prolific crime / thriller writer. His son Selwyn was also a crime writer and his daughter wrote as Margaret Jepson and her daughter is the well known author Fay Weldon.
