First UK edition. White title on red cloth boards which are very clean and unmarked with no wear. Internally very clean, tight and unmarked. A Very Good + copy. The book was made into a film in 1963 starring Robert Stack, Polly Bergen and Joan Crawford. The setting is a large mental hospital where a young psychiatrist is trying a modern, progressive new treatment and receives opposition from his colleagues.
